My Philosophy

In a world of advancing technology the opportunities and ability to provide a more bespoke surgical model of care has never been closer. A ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach is no longer fit for purpose. I believe that every patient should have access to world-class care and personalised treatment options, regardless of their location. I hope to increase the availability of bespoke, customised surgery for both sporting injuries and degenerative changes of arthritis in an effort to improve surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

As tried and tested technology becomes available I aim to continually upskill to offer the newest and most advanced treatment options to my patients.

Patient Specific Instrumentation (PSI Jigs)

Using patient specific instrumentation means we can use readily available implants positioned to your unique anatomy.

The positioning of the implant is planned prior to the day of surgery. A 3D printed jig is then created and used to ensure the correct alignment of your implant/graft to your anatomy.

Patient Specific Implants

For a patient specific implant your pre-operative CT is used to create a custom made implant on a one-off, case-by-case basis.

This allows us to make an implant that fits your anatomy perfectly.

We then use 3D printed jigs to position these accurately based on both your implant and your anatomy.

Navigated / Augmented Reality Surgery

Navigated surgery uses pre-operative CT scans, and/or real-time reference points at the time of surgery to create an augmented reality picture for us on screen.

This allows us to see and correct for any unique anatomical features and see the implant position in real-time before me commit to the final placement.

Robotic Assisted Surgery

In robotic assisted surgery we use a pre-operative CT scan to determine and plan your bony cuts to allow us to correctly place your implant relative to your anatomy.
